Once a year, it seems that the universe feels I need a gentle reminder of how fortunate I am to have air conditioning. Chad and Sarah's wedding was that day. Holy hotness. Fortunately, photographers are used to being the only rough-looking, sweaty, basically dressed people in a sea of gorgeous wedding guests - but I felt pretty bad for the bridal party in their heavy suits and dresses. Before I get to these off the charts photos of Drew and Val's wedding on the dock in Fish Creek, Wisconsin - I need to give you some background info. Not to make this wedding post about me, but this story is important. And yes, it involves me. So yes, I did just make this wedding post about me. The bride in question (Valerie) and I met years ago on the blogosphere. We were single, pessimistic, quasi-bitter, unapologetically sarcastic twenty-somethings writing about our tumultuous relationships and post-college life confusion.

Let this little tale be of some comfort to future brides who dare to plan an outdoor wedding in the fickle Midwest. This lovely bride, Michele, had a gorgeous outdoor ceremony planned at Klehm Arboretum and all the way up until the morning of the event, the weather predicted thunderstorms. There was panicking involved on all accounts. Probably me more than her.

Well, the universe loved us and we had the most gorgeous April day for this wedding at Starved Rock. The universe loved us even more because these two are just adorable. #icanteven // And it was a honor to capture the two of them as they committed their lives to each other. Ugh. I'm so behind on blogging. It looks like I haven't photographed anything in a year, haha. Just had a lot of life going on. You get me. Anyway, we did this wedding last November - and it was perfect. So classically beautiful and the couple was to die for.
